Oncology Patients

Many of the current treatments available for oncology patients today involve chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other therapies that can seriously affect reproductive health. Sims IVF is responsible for providing the National Oncology Fertility Preservation Service, which is publicly funded through the HSE. The technology required to freeze human semen, eggs, and embryos successfully has been developed for many years and has proven to be particularly valuable in these cases.

To avail of the National Oncology Fertility Preservation Service free of charge, a referral from a public HSE hospital is required. Private patients or those referred from non-HSE hospitals are eligible to access the programme on a self-pay basis.

Please note that is a consultant-led service only. Your Oncology Consultant or treating doctor must provide a referral letter/form confirming suitability for the programme and giving details of your clinical and social history.
